#2 on my shirt, #1 in my heart
today, is my favorite day of the year. it isn’t christmas and it isn’t my birthday. it is the first official day of baseball season. my obsession for derek jeter continues, 15 years strong, making it my longest relationship to date. go derek and go yanks!

hey hitler, in case you were wondering- i'm a jew!
a week or so ago, i randomly decided to make an online dating profile. it was 4am and i was bored and couldnt sleep. that was my first problem. i initially took it as a joke, making my “summaries” super witty and slightly ridiculous. (it is important to know that i may have mentioned i come from an italian/jewish family, which to be honest, is a huge part of who i am) problemo numero...
you owe me 40 cents
almost every morning, i stop by the deli across the street from work. and almost every morning the same older italian man with an amazing personality for 8:45 in the morning, takes my order: everything bagel toasted, nothing on it. now, every morning I usually get a chocolate milk, or a coffee, or a beverage of some sort, so i never know how much each thing is specifically. i just fork over my...

WHERE VODKA WAS INVENTED
ME: there is not one single, good looking man at this wedding!
Uncle: That’s why they invented Vodka.
saturday, march 26 2011: my amazing cousin roe and her fiance, tom got married. it was a typical italian wedding, 9 hour reception, 6 course meal, venetian dessert table that made dylan’s candy bar look like child play and a mere 300 people. my lovely and beautiful sister...
just an ordinary friday
happy spring!
happy freaking spring. just another rainy, hailing, windy, blistery cold, needed to take my mittens out from under my bed, again, kinda day. gross. its time for a vacation.
Nicolas is my god
Fall 2011: In Ghesquière’s words, “The season is a game of proportion, zooming in on textures, the way seeing things with a loop [a magnifying glass] can give you different, shifting points of view. It’s a bit surrealist.”
simply amazing.
my bills are too big
last night (or rather this morning) when i got home from a long night out with friends, i was tired, and very ready for bed. i shuffled, feet killing me, across the lobby, knowing that the guys in front of me were about to jump in an elevator, and i did not want to wait for another one. as they got in and pressed their floor, i said, “hey, can you hold that!”, and guy #1 in his best...
hats off to you
these hats are all amazing. billie, if you are reading this, these have your name written all over them. find me an occasion to wear one, asap.
pasta trifecta
ME: black tagliolini with shrimp and cherry tomatoes in a spicy red sauce
KATE: asparagus tagliatelle with canadian crab meat
MOM: fettuccini with artichoke hearts and sun dried tomatoes
tonight, i went to dinner with my mother and sister. we went to this amazing little italian place in soho, called savore. once again not being able to eat meat, i wanted nothing more than the veal ragu....
monkey business
this adorable pint size monkey was at a rest stop in vietnam. poor thing was chained to the pole, probably just on display for white girls like me to oh and ah at. i felt really bad for him, so i bought a bunch of bananas for a little snack. wish i could free the little guy and bring him home to america, the land of opportunity. he could start his own act in time square, and no longer have to...

wedding dress, what?
ive never been one to dream about my wedding, or a husband, or anything of the sort. my mom started a “wedding scrapbook” for me and my sis, where everytime we see something we like, we put it in there…you know, for the future… my sister actually goes out of her way to buy wedding magazines and loves to rip out all her favorites, inevitably filling up the scrapbook. me,...
the official mussel crawl
the hunt continues…im officially on a mussel hunt. trying to find the best of the best mussels in nyc, or rather something that tastes like schillers. fri night, obstaining from meat, neen and i went to flex mussels in the w. village. we got the fra diavolo and the burnt fingers appetizer. to be honest, they were everything i want in food: garlicy, spicy and doused in red sauce, but still...
things
ridiculously wonderful things i dont need, and have nowhere to wear them to. doesnt matter in the least bit, i still want them, and now.
rainy day
what a miserable, rainy day today. as i ran out of the apt in a total rush this morning, i forgot the key essential to a rainy day. an umbrella. as i walked home from the subway tonight, in nothing but my ear muffs to keep my newly straightened hair from getting wet, i realized i actually didnt mind getting wet. i mean for a few minutes, i enjoyed strolling along admiring how pretty the city...

ode to grey gardens
as i work on my portfolio, im always looking to be inspired. grey gardens (the one with drew barrymore) is one of my new favorite movies, and thus my new muse. edie beale (represented here by drew, edie herself +mk) is this cooky, quirky, vulnerable young girl who lives to sing, dance and fall in love. her tragic life turns from riches to rags, where she lives in complete denial, with her...
an ignorant tourist
yesterday, i read an article in an old marie claire called “women with no game”. its about being in a relationship for years and years and then one day waking up and realizing your soulmate actually doesn’t have a soul nor does he want to be a commited mate for the rest of your life. so you breakup and as hard as it is, you know know somehow ultimately you made the right...
aya takano
i heart aya takano’s work. she is creative, whimsical and amazingly vulgar. her bright eyed, candy eating, no bra wearing heroines are amazingly inspiring and relatable. love, love, love.
sloppy o's
my roomie ariane introduced me to something magical today….two cookies baked together with a delightful oreo center. some people may call it disgusting, or unhealthy, but i call it genius.
little peanut
march 1 2011: my all time favorite boss and very close friend and her amazing husband had a beautiful baby boy, 8lbs and flaming red hair. welcome to the world, jackson bertram white <3
turbans galore
i’m dying for one of these turbans a la prada circa 2007. in india, they are called pagri, and have been around since the 17th century. they are worn as a sign of respect, honor, and social status by the likes of orthodox christians, middle eastern muslims, and hollywood starlets around the world. this could be amazing or could be the worst idea i’ve ever had. the flea market by...
